PT Solid Gold Berjangka | Japan Stocks Fall as Investors Weigh Rise in US Treasury Yields
Japanese stocks decline as investors weigh the impact of a surge in US Treasury yields, and the yen remains under pressure.
Topix Index falls 0.2% to 2,380.22 as of 9:01 a.m. Tokyo time
Nikkei drops 0.3% to 32,569.58
Daiichi Sankyo Co. contributes the most to the Topix Index decline, decreasing 2.6%. Out of 2,157 stocks in the index, 524 rose and 1,386 fell, while 247 were unchanged.
“The US stock market was in a wait-and-see mood with a lack of new inputs, so it’s necessary to assess trends in US interest rates and the Chinese market,” says Hideyuki Ishiguro, a senior strategist at Nomura Asset Management.
