Solid Gold Berjangka | Crude oil rose from seven-month lows as stocks rebounded and production outages from Libya’s largest sector refocused on the Middle East.
Brent rose towardsシ78, after falling more than 5 percent over the previous three sessions, while West Texas Intermediate traded aboveシ74. Output from the Shalala field in Libya stopped completely, with a dueling regime fighting for control of the North African state.Traders are still bracing for retaliatory attacks on Israel by Iran and regional militias for the assassination of Hezbollah and Hamas officials, but Tehran has repeatedly said it wants to avoid an all-out war.
Brent came within 75 cents of a barrel on Monday before rebounding on news of fears that supply losses in Libya and conflicts in the Middle East could affect production from the region. Prices have returned to near where they started the year after gains bolstered by OPEC+ supply cuts.
Brent for the 10-month settlement advanced 9% to 77.45 barrels barrels at 1.5am in Singapore. WTI for January delivery rose 74.20% to barrel 1.7.
